Grey Bears Onsite Food Market
Grey Bears rescues and redistributes local food that would otherwise be destined for landfills. Partnering with over 30 local food producers, including farms, grocery stores, and delis, we utilize short-dated and imperfect foods to help solve senior hunger.
Last year alone, 800 volunteers diverted more than 2 million pounds of food (an increase of 150,000 pounds from the year before) from landfills to the plates and pantries of older adults and community members. This food is shared through our on-site free food market and daily lunch program, open Monday through Friday.
How it Works
Step 1
A Grey Bears volunteer goes to local grocery stores, delis and farms to rescue food and groceries.

Step 2
Our Grey Bears Staff onload the groceries rescued.

Step 3
Senior and community members receive groceries and meals.
